Digital X-Ray

An x-ray is a noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. Imaging with x-rays involves exposing a part of the body to a small dose of radiation to produce pictures of the inside of the body.

X-rays are the oldest and most frequently used form of medical imaging. X-Rays give a lot of information about the bones within the body but the advances in X-Ray technology over the years have made it a good diagnostic tool even for soft tissue information.

Digital Radiography

Digital radiography is one of the recent advances in X-ray imaging. Earlier the xray images were formed on films which needed to be developed. In digital radiograpy a digital cassette is used on which the image is formed and this cassette is then inserted into a scanner which transfers the image to the computer. Once the image is there on the computer, it can be sent through email or whatsapp. The image can also be printed on a film using a Laser printer.

The advantages of a digital radiography are many. The image procured in the digital format can be seen by the radiologist in a much better way by zooming on any part of the image. The images can be moved in 360 degree direction which helps in correct diagnosis of the problem.

Costing and Tests on X-Ray

Digital images of the xray are evaluated by a radiologist who makes the report. The digital images of the xray can also be sent to your treating doctor who can also interpret the images to make the diagnosis.

The cost of a digital xray is Rs. 500 for each view. Most of the bones need 2 views - AP and Lateral for complete information. The cost for 2 views would be Rs. 1000. Many special investigations like IVP, HSG, RGU etc are also done on X-Ray. The cost for these tests is in the range of Rs. 2000 - 5000. The results for most of the x-ray investigations are given on the same day by the evening.

The second centre was opened in Sohna in the year 2001. Now Suraj Diagnostics has shifted its centre from old Gurgaon to Sector 63 in the newer part of Gurgaon.

Dr Sumita Singh, MS has more than 30 years of experience in the field of Ultrasonography and Dr Erica Singh, MD (Radiodiagnosis) has more than 6 years of experience in the field of Radiology. Between them they have done more than 15 Lac Ultrasound and Color Doppler Studies which includes Level 2 Ultrasound for pregnancy, Abdominal Ultrasounds, TVS Ultrasounds, TRUS Ultrasounds.
